The summer in Japan begins June 22 and ends on September 23. These are the months of high heat, humidity and risks of torrential rains, with temperatures reaching 30 degrees. Go to the beach
Japan is a large island so the beach is what everywhere is. In addition, summer is the perfect time to go and enjoy the sand, the sun and the sea. You will find the best beaches in Okinawa, which is a group of small islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, separated from the main island of Japan. Okinawa has truly paradisiacal beaches. Although in the main part of Japan, there are also some interesting beaches to visit. The beauty of going to the beach in summer in Japan is to see how completely families will enjoy the day there.
Summer festivals in Japan
Geon Matsuri is one of the most important in the whole country. It is celebrated in Kyoto throughout the month of July. There are several interesting events to watch. Takekiri Eshiki is held at the Kuramadera Temple on the outskirts of Kyoto. It is the famous bamboo cutting ritual on June 20. Aizen Matsuri is the oldest festival in Japan. This Buddhist festival has been held in Osaka since 593 at the Aizen Shomanin Temple from June 30 to June 2.
Mitama Matsuri takes place in Tokyo from July 12-15. Its peculiarity is that more than 20 thousand lanterns illuminate the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo during the holidays. Obon is a kind of Day of the Dead for Japan. It is celebrated on August 15 and 16 in various parts of the country. Hiroshima bomb anniversary on August 6, 1945, various events are held to remember the victims.
